Love Has Given Me Wings!
Celebrate spring with singing! Con Tutti Singers usher in the season, celebrating in song with “Love Has Given Me Wings!” on May 3rd at 7:30 p.m. at South Church, 292 State Street in Portsmouth!
“We are so very excited,” says Director Joanne Connolly, “to be singing and celebrating with songs to uplift. I absolutely love the Gipsy Kings version of ‘Volare’! which says ‘leave the confusion and all the disillusion behind’, and sings about how sometimes, ‘the world is a valley of heartache and tears, BUT LOVE HAS GIVEN ME WINGS!’, I love how these lyrics reflect a bit of what is going on in our world right now BUT also resolves with “love has given me wings….fly and sing! Volare, Cantare, flying and singing. I do think our concert will touch on some heartache and troubles…BUT will uplift and celebrate with great Gospel and Americana music!”
Singing songs from lands far and near, Con Tutti celebrates with a recipe of songs from Scotland, South Africa, mixing in some American Spirituals, Blues, Gospel, and songs from “O Brother Where Are Thou”! You’ll get a terrific mix to keep your feet wanting to dance and your heart to sing!
Con Tutti singers will be joined by the very fun and talented Matt Jenson on piano and his trio on bass and percussion.
